It's alarming how close the plane lands to neighborhoods.
I didn't know it was particularly low. Living here I of course fly in and out pretty much every time I fly. But I've flown into a couple dozen other airports and LAX doesn't seem terribly different than any other non-rural airport.
I've done some landings myself in a Piper Warrior at our several smaller airports and it didn't unnerve me, I mean, you can't see any other way. You can see your altitude and you're plenty high enough over the rooftops on am approach.
Want terror and danger? Try SFO. Runways are waaaaay too close together, plus winds. I would not land there, then again, I'm inexperienced.
