  • Counsels of Perfection for Catholic Mothers by Monsignor Lejune

"Women must be liberated from their modern ‘emancipation’, which is really slavish compliance to a Calvinistic and masculine ideal, so they can return to their proper work — greater than medicine, engineering, business and politics — participating with God in the creation and nurture of human life, which cannot be done by men or angels."

There is not possible restoration of Christian civilization if women are not liberated from the devil of feminism and returned to all the virtues of great womanhood.

If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Marsha, I just checked it out: you just have to have a Scribd account (which is free) and you can read it online, download to PDF, and another option.

    Thanks; looks good!

Not sure why you were downvoted so heavily! I definitely find this to be the case, especially considering the number of child deaths from neglect to ...worse things. But Matto's right: motherhood isn't considered a positive thing at all to most women anymore, much less a holy (or even honorable) vocation!

SCG:  Ok, I feel so dumb :(  I only see a free trial, and then it is 9 bucks a month???  Where is the button for a free subscription?  Sorry for being so dense  :fryingpan:

    Marsha

It tells me I have to pay to download (unless I upload something of mine), but I can read it on the screen for free.

Oh I'm so sorry and embarrassed! I looked into it because for me, it is free (I've used it often... that's about to change, though); I've never paid a dime, so I did some digging and found long-standing accounts were "grandfathered in" and never even KNEW Scribd had started CHARGING for FREE ITEMS.

     :dwarf:

I am starting to so strongly distrust these corporations on the NSANet (internet), but who'd have thunk Scribd would start charging for free things. Scribd needs to be taken down. A notch. But anyway, I grabbed a copy of the PDF and popped it on my Dropbox for anyone to download (and it really IS free; my personal dropbox!): Counsels of Perfection for Catholic Mothers PDF. It's really pretty good, and as long as Dropbox doesn't start charging, this link will be free.

(I should take time and put it into epub format directly, but it's bedtime. If enough people would like epub, LMK and I'll do that, too.)
