Here is the Latin text of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary according to the Carmelite Rite, the usage of the Roman Rite as observed by the Carmelites of the Old Observance and heavily influenced by local Medieval usages, particularly the Sarum Rite.

Various things about the Carmelite Little Office that differentiate it from the Little Office found in the Roman Breviary ought to be noted:

1) There are various structural differences that are peculiar to the Carmelite Rite.

2) There are different Psalms at Prime and Compline, the latter having four Psalms instead of three.

3) The text of the Hymns preserves the ancient Latin version that was replaced by the Classical versification of the recension of Pope Urban VIII, and the Hymns (except at Vespers and Compline) vary during Paschaltide, Ascensiontide and the Octave of Pentecost.

4) There is a Final Commemoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the end of each Hour, so that the four Final Antiphons, versicles and orations found in the Roman Breviary are unnecessary and therefore are not present in the Carmelite Little Office.
