About the author: Peter Fredet, D.D. (Doctor of Divinity) (1801–1856) was a French-born Roman Catholic priest, theologian, and prominent historian who spent decades teaching in the United States. For over twenty years, he served as a Professor of History at St. Mary's College in Baltimore, Maryland. His textbooks became standard curriculum across numerous American Catholic schools and academic institutions during the mid-to-late 1800s.

In two volumes, one covering "BC" and another covering "AD", and packed into about 1,000 pages you find a concise overview of world history in textbook/study format. The key take away is that all of history is centered around the Incarnation or coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ into the world.

Another good take away is found in the first pages of "Ancient History" (see page 17). He gives incontestable reasons to understand that humans and civilizations could not have been on the earth millions of years, nor even tens of thousands of years. He gives evidence for creation, the global flood, and YEC (young earth).
