The great Dominican theologian, Rev. Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, wrote regarding the great number of souls who retard themselves culpably in the way of salvation and perfection in Chapter XXXVII of his celebrated work The Three Ages of the Interior Life: Prelude of Eternal Life (St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1946).
It is my hope that the doctrines of this great theologian may elucidate upon the reasons why we often are set back in the interior life on account of our own faults.
