JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Good Samaritan speaks out about how she and her fiancé helped a man being beaten by teenagers on the Northside.

A witness who does not want to reveal her identity for fear of her safety says Friday night she was driving down Soutel Drive near Lem Turner Road with her fiancé and saw a group of teenagers beating a man.

"We seen a whole bunch of African-American kids you know, beating and stomping on an elderly Caucasian guy and he had bags and everything, he couldn't even defend himself because it was so many kids," said the anonymous witness.

The witness says she immediately dialed 911 and turned around to go help the man.

"Between 10 or 15 kids it could have been more because they just scattered like ants when we came back around," said the witness.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report identified the victim as 56-year-old Peter Richard Lockhart. He was transported to Shands for abrasions on his left wrist and face. The witness says Lockhart told her that he had just gotten off the city bus and was going home with his groceries.

The victim told police that he was approached from behind and was beaten with a stick, the witness says at one point he was just laying flat on the ground and almost looked like he had crawled out to the road where people could see him.

The witness says she feels brave and She and her fiancé say if they had to do it all over again, they still would have stopped despite the risks.

"If you see something like this help someone out because that could have been you, that could have been one of your family members, your father or one of your grandfathers how would they feel if someone out there was beating their grandmother or grandfather, what goes around comes around," added the witness.

As of early Saturday evening, Shands hospital staff members reported Lockhart to be in stable condition.

The police says there were two other incidents in the area within the same time frame that match the description of the suspects. The report says an air unit was dispatched to search the area but did not find the suspects.

I saw this story, I was completely astonished that they specified the race(s) *at all*.

They never do when it's black on white.

When they describe the heights, weights, and clothing of assailants and conspicuously leave out race (so, we're all looking for a human being wearing a blue baseball cap now??) then it is code for black on white.

Maybe simulate a scenario where you have to draw a knife quickly and use it (against the air, similar to shadow boxing). Be safe out there.

Very seldom Black on White crime gets any headlines nor TV coverage.
If it was the reversed, you bet it would be broadcasted nationwide and
worldwide, and week after week.
The ruling elites that controls the mass media are not interested in racial
harmony, and equal justice. They are pursing a dividing, and conquering
strategy to tear apart the social order and decency.

It is no wonder blacks hate whites and whites hate blacks. And don't forget the resentment and anger that both races have for anyone south of the border.

The agenda to pit the races against each other is very very successful and reaching fever pitch.

The media treats it as a non issue, not worthy to report, and lies
about it.

The Japanese tanto blade point allows the knight to penetrate hard surfaces, without chipping or deflecting (similar to a samurai sword design). Good for piercing heavy hoodlum jackets.

Pricey at $73, but worth it due to good reliability.

A couple of Philippino mechanics I met at Walmart referred me to this brand after I almost bought one of my favorite Taiwnese knives. They used it in their work and said the blade was well made. I've had it for almost 2-years and without problems.

Of course, a knife if useful, and one should always have it. I still think every home needs a gun. Train everyone in your household. Show respect for your firearm at all times and it will hopefully never be used as a weapon.

Try a 12 guage Remington 870 Express with folding stock.

Made in USA, with a seven round shell capacity.
The pistol grip and reliable pump action make it very controllable and effective at close range.

You can disburse a large gang of hoodlums with this.
Add "00" buckshot and they won't be going back to "the hood" anymore.

Price: $540, but well worth it, do to it's known durability and home defense value.

That Kershaw knife is EXACTLY the knife I own :smile: It has a clip on the other side of the handle. I bought it from Wal-Mart online back in '08 or '09, and I think it was around $40. I wanted a USA made knife, and the reviews on this baby was outstanding. I figured it had the quality of a Benchmade and Ka'Bar for at least half the price. (p.s. I normally don't like shopping from Wal-Mart, but this knife is American made, high quality, and the price was too good to pass up)

I imagine most criminals don't like big dogs. Carrying a pistol or knife would have been handy if he wasn't already carrying shopping bags. Maybe a granny-cart would have helped. If it were me, I wouldn't want to walk to the shops alone - I'd drive or go with another adult.

Was this a high crime area? or a sudden unexpected attack in a good neighborhood?

In regards to having a knife, can anyone here talk about any training and/or real world experience with using one in self-defence? How does one deploy the knife? What angles are needed for slices and then fatal stabs? It all sounds so easy, but if you do not have proper training, a knife in assaults is worthless since assaults happen with multiple attackers and usually with Pearl Harbor tactics. Does anyone know the feeling of puncturing a person's organs and then literally having blood on his hands? Blood that quickly covers your hand, feet, and legs and becomes sticky. Are the samurai's who post here familiar with watching the life slowly leave a person's eyes? It all sounds so romantic and chivalrous and Chucky Norris. If you want to carry a knife for protection, buy a good one like the one above and prepare to spend many hours and dollars/pounds getting well-trained. And really, really know what taking a human life can do to one's psyche, even in legitimate self-defence. It is not as simple as having it clipped to the side jeans pocket and pulling it out and eliminating the threat.
