Thanks for this video. Several years ago, I saw an interview with Mrs. Warren regarding her book, The Two Income Trap. My husband and I had already experienced the Trap and found her views quite insightful. Once again, I found this lecture quite insightful. Unfortunately most moderns don't believe the significance of real data. I have known for decades now, as we have experienced it personally, that the cost of housing, health insurance, and the costs of actually keeping Mom in the workforce have created a dependency on dual incomes. We were once apart of it and were shocked at how much it was costing us. We were literally saving change to buy milk for our 3 children. The transmission going out on our 1 year old vehicle was ultimately the catalyst for change. We bought some really good Christian budgeting books and realized the insanity of modern living. We moved 1000 miles across country for better wages for my husband, affordable housing, and as Mrs. Warren suggested, good public schools. That was 6 years ago. Our growth, however, has continued us on this path. We are now looking for ways for my husband and I to become independent financially. Since we are beginning homeschooling, we are also considering moving into a farmhouse, having a few chickens and a larger garden etc. It just seems the natural place to go now. We've long realized there is really only the wealthy and the ever expanding poor. What middle class? It really has eluded us.
