WHOA!

Richard Russell, the famous writer of the Dow Theory Letters, has a chilling line in today's note:

Do your friends a favor. Tell them to "batten down the hatches" because there's a HARD RAIN coming. Tell them to get out of debt and sell anything they can sell (and don't need) in order to get liquid. Tell them that Richard Russell says that by the end of this year they won't recognize the country. They'll retort, "How the dickens does Russell know -- who told him?" Tell them the stock market told him.

That's pretty intense!

Update: By popular demand, here's more on what he sees in the market. The gist is that the markets recent gyrations are telling him that the economy is in trouble:

And I ask myself, "Am I seeing things? The April 26 high for the Dow
was 11205.03. The Dow is selling as write at 10557 down 648 points
from its April high. If business is even better than expected, then
why is the Dow down over 600 points? And why, if there were 674 new
highs on the NYSE on April 26, were there only 20 new highs on Friday,
May 14? And if my PTI was 6133 on April 26, why is it down 17 points
since its April high?

The fact is that I've been seeing deterioration in the stock market
ever since early-April, and this in the face of improving business
news. The D-J Industrial Average is composed of 30 internationally
known top-quality blue-chip stocks. These are 30 of "America's biggest
companies." If Barron's is so bullish on the future of America's
biggest companies, then why isn't the Dow advancing to new highs?

Clearly something is wrong. But what could it be? Much as I love
Barron's, I trust the stock market more. If I read the stock market
correctly, it's telling me that there is a surprise ahead. And that
surprise will be a reversal to the downside for the economy, plus a
collection of other troubles ahead.

About Dow Theory -- First, we saw the recent April highs in the
Averages. Then we saw a plunge in both Averages to their May 7 lows --
Industrials to 10380.43, Transports to 4298.12, next a short rally. If
ahead, the two Averages turn down and violate their May 7 lows, that
would be the clincher. Such action would signal the certain resumption
of the primary bear market.

Just as for years I asked, cajoled, insisted, threatened, demanded,
that my subscribers buy gold, I am now insisting, demanding, begging
my subscribers to get OUT of stocks (including C and BYD, but not
including golds) and get into cash or gold (bullion if possible). If
the two Averages violate their May 7 lows, I see a major crash as the
outcome. Pul - leeze, get out of stocks now, and I don't give a damn
whether you have paper losses or paper profits!

I am not feeling the 2010 looming disaster so I'd encourage people not to panic, although I'm not claiming prophetic power and all I have is my own opinion which is about of equal value with anyone else's who is not inspired by God ( i.e. none ).  However there have been many uncanny events in my life so far and I just don't see God taking me out yet, right after I become Catholic.  I feel there is more to my story and that I'm going to be of some use in the future.  If America crashes in 2010, I am dead meat, because I have no way to get out at this point.  That may be a narcissistic way to interpret the future but it's what I have and it has worked so far.

Moving from the subjective to the objective, I believe there will be a slight recovery due to the implementation of Obama's socialist programs before the big crash happens.  The recent economic downtorn was a warning to try to scare people into some soul-searching and to see the truth behind things, to see that their world is as fragile as a soap bubble.  God has made it abundantly clear to anyone who isn't completely delusional that the world as we know it today, the modern world, is built on pillars of sand.

Having failed to absorb this lesson, however, God will permit the masses to prosper temporarily once more, so that as they are celebrating the "renewed health of America" the real bomb will drop on Atlantis.  When God gets angry He lets people revel in their delusions, and then He lets their worst fears come upon them.  That is what will happen to America and in spades.  The rest of the world will also suffer but America will probably be destroyed completely.

I'd peg the fall of Mystery Babylon/paradigm shift as BEGINNING in 2017 rather than 2010 or 2012.  That may be when there is a staged world war or devastating series of natural disasters -- or manipulated natural disasters -- but not necessarily when America goes down once and for all as we see in Apocalypse 18.  That could be anywhere from 2017-2300 for all I know ( though I'd guess more about 2030 ) but during all this time events will be happening in Europe pertaining to the Restoration.

So gladius I believe it will all be slower rather than a sudden shock, although that is relative, because what to you and me seems slow will be a shock for others who are blind no matter when it comes.  But I see God as moving at an amazingly slow pace, being extremely patient, and I think this is because He is waiting for the "cup of the wine of wrath" to be filled.  Then it will be smashy-smashy time.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

That would be the 500th year of Martin Luther and 100 th anniversary of Fatima.

I think the Devil was quoted as asking for 100 years to destroy the Chruch according to Pope Leo XIII's  spiritual encounter.

Gladius, thanks a bunch for posting this stuff. Here is a snip from an article I was reading, that says similar-

ECONOMIC CRISIS: ONLY TANGIBLES WILL BE SAFE

As the European bailout unfolds, the markets are no longer reacting with the same confidence they did when the US Fed began its bailout fever. Clearly investors are beginning to see that this whole fiat money ponzi scheme will eventually go bust. Franklin Sanders of The Moneychanger.com expresses a growing sentiment which I have long warned about:

"Today lies a fog over everything, and I am searching for some light. Bob the Technical Genius reminded me that all the stock markets in the world appear to be positioned for gargantuan plunges. In that event another panic for liquidity would ensue, prompting terrorized investors to throw everything saleable onto the fire. In that sort of panic where confidence in financial markets is shrinking, gold fares better than silver. In the aftermath, silver recovers much faster than gold. In the meantime, silver owners sweat.

"But I can't escape the idea that the world of illusion is dissolving. After decades of make-up, manipulation, sleight-of-hand, & old- fashioned unashamed fraud, the public has grown weary and gun-shy, so the old illusions no longer deceive. From that I conclude that the only value you own is the one you control. Tangibles, tangibles, I want tangibles, whether a factory or a restaurant or farm that can produce a stream of unfailing revenue, or silver & gold in my hand, I want something real that I control."

I concur. Anyone who keeps most of their assets in paper markets will eventually lose all. Even gold and silver will be hard to convert to cash or even barter when times are really bad. Almost no one knows how to determine if a gold or silver coin or bar is real or counterfeit. Then, there's the problem of how do you get a person to give you change when you only have a $2000 gold coin to offer? Smaller denominations are better than larger, and the more easily recognized silver dollars are better than more rare coins--as far as getting the public to accept them. Remember too, that when you stockpile goods and equipment that you use everyday, you eliminate your future need for money or barter. That takes planning and safe, concealed storage space--but it's your ultimate guarantee (speaking of temporal needs only).

Mike,

It has been slow, but it is notably and discernibly accelerating.  Whether you live in LA forever, things unravel next week in a flash or over ten painful years, you will be aided by events to do what God desires -- no more and no less.  If you are to die at such and such a time, there is NO WAY around it.  Similarly, if you are to live until such and such a time, you will, regardless of the danger all around you.

2010 will see intensifying unrest and disintegration, although the apex will not be seen until 2012 (IMO).  That said, it may not be God's will that I live to see it, so... :)

You are welcome, CathMom.  Godspeed to you, your husband, and your little ones.
