I been without a full time job since December 2008, and
have already ran out of benefits. I had only five job
interviews with no luck. I am lucky, I live with Family
during these hard times.
Before my unemployment this time, I was only out of
a job twice, and was able to find a job in a matter of
weeks. that was in 1970, and 1984.
In this video, I am glad that the mainstream is now
admitting that the unemployment rate is at lease
17%, and not the government cover up of 9.5%.

I watched this video. No one in our government really wants to admit how horrible the economy is nor suggest that we are actually in a depression. We are LUCKY. Although my husbands previous employer laid off most of its staff, he was able to negotiate a job with the State. He took a large cut in pay, but he's lucky to be working. We have friends who have been out of work for over 6 months. We also know some people who have been looking for full time work for more than a year. My husband has been looking for part time work for over 6 months with no luck. There are so many applicants and so few positions.

Our area is booming right now because of gas drilling. Unfortunately it has pushed the cost of housing sky high and many of the people who are out of work and losing their jobs are finding it incredibly difficult if not impossible to find affordable housing. They are having to move to other states and live with relatives. My 6 year old daughter has had 3 friends move this year to other states to live with relatives.

The situation, I'm afraid, is going to get much worse before it gets better.

Even last year I knew several people who were
unemployed
under-employed
hours cut back
etc.

It's pretty scary to realize that we're in a Great Depression. Right now. Today. I expect to look outside and see everything in sepia tones -- might as well.

The money supply has already contracted MORE than the amount that started the Great Depression in 1930.

People are already making fundamental changes -- a sea change (major, fundamental paradigm shift) is underway.

Mark my words: we're not getting out of this depression any time soon. I wish that weren't the case, but such is the truth.

In their Home. With other relatives that have lost their
jobs. However, they were lucky that they sold their home
in a short sale.

RC53, even some of us who "own" our homes outright are still in danger of losing it. See what happens when you can't pay your property taxes. And they have other ways of driving people out whose homes do not add to the neighborhood. Owning a home is an illusion - you don't really own it, just perpetually rent it.

The powers that be relish grinding people into the ground.

some states, you never actually own the land said home sits on..but, true..
