Of course, a huge part of the problem is women entering the workforce and taking up about half of all available jobs, leaving many men unemployed and unable to support families. But it's all by design. When women entered the workforce and pushed most households to have 2 incomes, they raised prices because people could afford more and therefore enslaved many people into double-income mode even just to get by.
In the 1960's and 70's my family sold USA machinery and industrial manufacturing products, everything for a plant. You see, since after WWII, the USA was the only source for industrial machinery and for pretty much anything till about the late 1960's. The USA sold the manufacturing capabilities to many countries in Europe, South America, and the Far East. Once all those countries were manufacturing, they all fought it out from there, whomever had the best price, quality, and reliability would win.
Meanwhile in the USA, the unions got greedy, for instance the unskilled automobile assembly line workers were costing upward of $30 an hour (in 1970's). At the ports, the forklift operators were making $35 an hour. In todays dollars that's like $400+ an hour! It costs a ton of money to close a plant and move to another state, like to the Southern states. Many companies did that, but the majority just started sourcing their parts from the overseas suppliers. As they increasingly sourced from overseas, more jobs were being lost. In the early 1990's the USA started building up communist China's industries, where the labor rates were $0.25 an hour and the quality was comparable with Mexico. Eventually they made China the source for everything, and subsequently turned China from a third world country barely able to feed its population, into a world power, able to defeat the USA militarily.
The 50% unemployment comes from the jobs being sent away to other countries. The greedy unions, the greedy aberrant capitalists, and their paid politicians all contributed to the 50% unemployment. AND it will only get worse.
