Pretty amazing statistic, and I really don't know anyone who fits the average of only 3.9 years on a job. My Peace Corps service was 2 years 3 months (the standard tour, with language training), than I had a couple of short term (1-3 years) gigs, short term by design. I worked at a small registered Holstein dairy for five years until the owner decided to disperse the herd. I moved to a 500 cow dairy, which expanded to 700 during the five years I was there. I only left because of a new opportunity as a sales rep in the artificial insemination business, where I was at for ten years, then I was a herd manager at a Land Grant University's research and teaching dairy center for 15 years. I needed to move back to the family farm to help my mother, who was in her late 90's at the time, and have been working at a funeral home for the past 7 years. At one time a huge red flag on a resume was when someone changed jobs often (less than 5 years).
