  • I must admit that I am no longer young. I remember in my youth
when I was going to city college, and later university. Jobs
were easy to find, and employers were always willing to hire young
people going to school. Some jobs turned out to be permanent
jobs, with the promise of pay increases, and better benefits.
Today, it is a different story. There is an ever increasing
unemployment amount the youth. The true unemployment is
much higher than the government statistics admit. If you
check shadow stats by John Williams. I believe that he is
much more accurate than the government monthly figures.
The only place that youth can find a job now is in the military.
But why do you want your youth to be shipped overseas to fight in
    foreign wars.

  • I think it's more that we've gotten rid of manufacturing and industry.

Now, we have "all chiefs and no indians" and every single person goes to college, and nobody want to work with their hands.

If they did, I'm not sure where they'd work, since we've pretty much eliminated blue collar factory/mining/manufacturing, etc. work in this country.
