Title: JIM ROGERS: The worst crash in our lifetime is coming
Post by: St Jude Thaddeus on June 09, 2017, 08:44:47 AM
Disclaimer: Yes, I know he's not Catholic, I know he worked with George Soros in the 1970's, I know he's a big money man in the upper echelons of the power structure, etc, but I'd like to know what my fellow Cathinfo posters think of his predicitons here. He seems to have been ahead of the curve a few times in the past:

Here's the article I'm referring to:

But he offers no advice except to learn Chinese?

I think we would be wise to take a lesson from Venezuela. They were once the wealthiest nation in South America and are now in the most dire of straights. It can happen to any country.

The collapse of our economy has been predicted since the 70's at least, and one day it may happen. Think about what you can do to ride it out. Live modestly, stay out of debt, learn to grow edibles. Store a modest amount of food and supplies and learn a skill.

Learn an instrument so you can entertain others and take their minds off their worries.

To Marlelar's post I would add:

Learn to kill and process your own animals/meats so that if you have to kill somebody you might not be as traumatized afterwards. Besides, it's useful to be able to do these things.

Basically, he's not saying much at all. The article is repetitive and monotonous.

He's saying that we have a worse debt bubble now than we had during the 2008 mortgage crisis, and that we're overdue for a collapse, and this time the collapse will be the biggest one in living memory.

Is this true? I know that the fundamental issues that caused the last crisis were never properly addressed, and that Obama increased the debt. Are we really due for another collapse and if so, which is the bubble that's going to burst this time?
