If you have time, take a ride up to N. Scottsdale and the nearby Desert Ridge area of N. Phoenix. Numerous developments, Aviana by Toll especially in Desert Ridge. A new definition of a Western ghost town as hundreds of units sitting empty waiting for suckers in search of the American dream: a poorly built cookie-cutter crapbox on a tiny lot, inches apart from another crapbox.
Nearby by is the vast Desert Ridge mall, populated by retailers selling overpriced Chinese crap and corporate restaurants serving microwaved "food". Meanwhile are all staffed by low-wage teenagers and laid-off middle-agers.

This is too true. When my husband was laid off, the snide comments and "helpful" suggestions never stopped. Now, it has happened to some of those people and they are quite. But, I would never say I told you so. There is no joy in what I think is being purposely done to dismantle the family and further emascualte the men of America.
In the meantime, there are commercials on the radio selling Geneva's annual "Holiday" walk. In sounds like some sort of Utopia where there is nothing but perfect children, no crime, unlimited wealth and all should come spend this weekend eating chestnuts and caroling on the fabulously trendy 3rd St.
