Anyone who wants to be horrified about homelessness need only do some research about being homeless. It's one of those things that is so horrifically wrong, but that nobody will ever know IS that wrong unless they see for themselves.

 Nobody will ever fix the problems with "help for the homeless" I think, for the same reasons that the child who is beaten doesn't turn in their parent... love aside, instinctively speaking you don't bite the hand that feeds you, even if that same hand also abuses. If you want to eat, you learn to like a knuckle sandwich as much as you like a bologna sandwich. Besides, people will believe the homeless man less than they believe the abused child. The homeless man, it is automatically assumed, is a liar and a thief, who automatically is addicted to something. The child, at least, is assumed to be innocent and at least capable of telling the truth.
