The gold market is mostly electronic and paper -- which is ridiculous and fake. If anyone decides to buy gold, my advice would be "buy the real stuff and take it home with you". Don't mess with electronic gold. In a collapse scenario, your paper gold will be worth nothing -- just like your paper stocks, paper bonds and paper currency.

The price of gold is *very much* manipulated.

I heard that Russia is actually acquiring gold these days, not selling it. They know what's coming I guess.
