This is the scary aspect of what's happening -- it's never happened before, or it's happened before, right at the start of the Great Depression (that's almost as bad!)

And it's true that even the largest, strongest banks are requiring unprecedented amounts of government help (bailouts) just to stay out of bankruptcy and total collapse. This is serious stuff!

That's why it seems like SHTF (since this is a Catholic forum, we'll have to say that stands for Severe Halt To Functioning, or Sure Harms Thy Fortune)  :wink:
