Keep predicting the crash for long enough and eventually you might be right.

Trads have been predicting economic armageddon for as long as I can remember. I can remember Father Williamson talking about the ridiculousness of the stock market back in the mid 1980s and now any day now it would come crashing down and the Soviet Tanks would be rolling in.

In hindsight, a better idea was to learn, train, earn and therefore be able to provide a single income equal to or in excess of most joint incomes around you. The doomsday mentality zapped a lot of people of the impetus to get their secular life in good order and provide for a wife and probably many children.

When the crash arrives, if it arrives in our lifetimes, those people who were trained, educated and had worked in the old system will find employment or opportunity in the new system because they have the experience and credibility and, frankly, the pragmatic ability to compromise to get certain tasks done. None of which your typical doomsday prepper possesses.

Look at the breakdown of any society and the setting up of a new order, Russia post revolution and post Berlin Wall, Iraq. In every case while a few of the top dogs go, most of the competent class of people are necessary to get society back onto its feet again.

So, probabalistically, the best odds are to acquire the skills and credibility and trusted network to be competent in any system. Those who are failing economically in this system will be amoung the first to starve in any collapse when the opportunities dry up.

The simple truth is that regardless of the crash that happens that I can approach a person who has lots of assets under their control and very likely convince him that with my assistance he can protect, grow, secure, invest those assets because I had 25 years of experience of doing that. I am competent and I appear competent and that is what people ALWAYS want, skilled, competent, clear thinking, credible people who can be given a task and achieve it. This is true under communism, capitalism or any other kind of 'ism.

I think ggreg's only point was to encourage people to learn and position themselves to be useful in society, regardless of how it pans out. We must learn to roll with the punches, not just bemoan said punches. Too many people complain, whine, moan, and groan but never actually take steps to improve their own lives or plan for a future.

I too am tired of people predicting doom and gloom. Yes, we know it will come eventually so be mindful of the fact and plan accordingly. Most likely we will have our own "personal doomsday" aka death long before the world does.

In so many of these doom and gloom scenarios, the crash is always just soon enough to make people nervous, but also just far enough away that people will forget about coming back and saying how wrong the predictor was when it doesn't happen.

The crash will occur when the Bankersteins decide to crash it. The system is completely manipulated and rigged to crash. The currency, money supply and economic system is not some free dynamic that has random vulnerabilities & unequilibriums that the Bankersteins brainwash the herd into believing. Their scapegoat, or "black swan" event, will be orchestrated by them, too, and it will occur before the economic collapse, as to use as blame for "causing" it, thereby diverting attention away from themselves. Instead of rage and revolt against the the Bankersteins, there will be fear, distraction and many, many losses of life due to the engineered diversion, which I strongly believe will be a pandemic.
