  • The US Dollar Index is down to 82.38 -- isn't that close to its all-time low?

We know that they are printing up a storm at the Fed...which means that the dollars you and I hold are becoming more worthless by the day.

So shouldn't we all be buying every durable item we would normally buy "soon" so as to hedge against inflation?

Once we have all the furniture (etc) we were planning on buying in the next year, we should buy gold and put the rest into tools and canned/dry goods.

Food, especially, will skyrocket in price in 2007. With the record cold/floods/droughts we've already had, plus ethanol making so many farmers plant corn instead of wheat/cotton/you name it, prices are going to be VERY HIGH for food this year!

Time to learn how to garden...

  • Normally, people would have started planting things, but we're having some crazy weather up here in the Midwest!  Today, it is snowing, raining, and hailing.  When the heck can I being planting stuff when we have such fluctuations?  A week or so ago, we had temperatures in the 70s or 80s, and now there's this mess.

    *Sigh.*

  • It'll be hard to grow anything if there's no bees to pollinate anything.
