  • What do you do to be thrifty?

I buy second hand when possible,  stay away from canned, boxed and packaged foods, garden a little (but not too successfully, I seem to have a yellow thumb) and I recycle and compost.

  • Make snacks from scratch
Make meals from scratch- no processed foods
    Rarely eat out
Use rags and cloth napkins instead of paper towels and paper napkins
Big garden- can, dry, and freeze lots of food
Make all my skirts and dresses (I haven't been successful with shirts and pants for my husband.... yet).
Recreation is made at home, we rarely buy it.
Buy second hand- I can't remember the last time I've bought something at full price. A couple years ago, maybe.

Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

  • I try to buy on sale and go for the lowest price whenever possible. If I can buy a decent pair of shoes at $20 on clearance versus the same shoes $65 two aisles down, then it's better.
