  • This should be a warning to all that time is of the essence.  We really must liquidate all bank accounts, 401Ks, IRA's, etc. and if you haven't done so, get out of the stock market NOW. Take your money while there is still a little time left and invest in hard asset's such as land and farming equipment.  Things that will help you and your families survive the coming collapse.

  • I agree -- if you have any extra money (that you don't plan to need/use for 3 months or more) you should keep it closer to you.

Keep it in cash, silver, gold and

    "practical tools/equipment"
which is defined as items that help you:

    Grow things
    Make things
    Fix things
    Maintain things
    Trade for other things

Things you seldom find at smart peoples' garage sales, or the first things to go at any garage sale. Things that anyone can use.

Of course, if you're paycheck-to-paycheck (or close to it) then this doesn't apply to you.

That is one piece of advice that Bob Chapman used to give that I put into practice.  Keep some cash on hand in a home safe and only enough in the bank to cover three months worth of  expenses.   If you have any left over you should spend it on practical things.

Do you think it's a good idea to invest in a lot of gold and silver?  I can see keeping a bit of junk silver around for bartering purposes and some gold and silver for paying things like property taxes when the dollar goes kaput.  However, what good is having a big pile of precious metal coins laying around when the majority of people will be hard up and practically starving?
