  • For those who are skeptical about "Peak Oil" (the notion that we have, or soon will, hit peak oil production capacity, and that it will begin declining, even as demand increases every year):

Even if Peak Oil won't happen for geological reasons, it will happen for political ones.

If war breaks out with Iran, it will be very hard to get oil through the Strait of Hormuz, where a HUGE percentage of middle-eastern oil passes through.

If oil shoots up to $100 or more a barrel (it's currently $66 and rising), we will have the SAME EFFECTS (higher demand, lower supply) that Peak Oil promised to bring.

Whether it's man-made or not, Peak Oil will be coming.

Peak Oil will affect EVERYTHING -- not just gas prices. It means that gasoline will triple in price, which will cause Wal-Mart and others to pass that transportation cost on to food prices, etc.
You can imagine how a LOT of people are going to be in trouble.

It will also collapse the house of cards that we call the US Economy.

    In Christ,

    Matthew
