  • ok well after you post it up, there should only be about 30 pages of this thread to wade through tomorrow so I can post my response at the end. But I'll do my best.

I'm heading off now. Chat later.

No, first you agree to the terms, then I will put it up.

If you don't agree, then the score is : 3 chickens, 0 braves

  • YOU WORKED FOR NASA!!!!!????

Has this already been mentioned on the forum? Clearly, you are therefore Satan incarnate.

Yeah, along with thousands of other people ... some of them scrubbing toilets.  I wrote software that controlled science equipment that they used on the Space Shuttle.  They would ignite different mixtures of gases to see how they burned in low gravity (whatever that really is) ... to understand how they could be extinguished.  I was at Mission Control (and our experiment on board) when the Columbia exploded.

  • It's no longer online, but I am happy to put it back up.. IF there is any hope and/or guarantee of it making a difference. It sounds though like you are not sure enough of yourself to go down that road.

Question: What would a good parent do when they are having a conversation with other adults and their children keep interrupting them with nonsense?

Answer: warm their backside and send them to bed.

If only a moderator could be found to do the same here.

My decision is final. I will treat you civily if you treat me civily but not on silly terms.

NASA does do some science. Throw enough mud and some of it will stick. It is an evitable result of pumping billions of dollars into something, that something will come out.

And the toilet scrubbers are clearly the most evil....

    Never liked toilet scrubbers....

The entire subforum is already in timeout.

My theory is that, after setting this up so that anyone who wants to ignore flat-earthers can easily do so, he is doing so.

There's not too many who will discuss the science here. It is usually about scripture and dogma.

So you might have to take what you can get.

Except that in years to come when traditional (or maybe otherwise) friends and family come to you and say they think the earth is flat, you won't be able to ignore it so easily.

I have been encouraged to read that a lot of the 18-24 year old generation now accept the truth on this question.

It's growing, and you can't stop it.

My husband's first full-time job was writing software for nuclear reactors.  There was a lot of anti-nuclear feeling then and it was a bit awkward.

With that I agree: concentrate on what you see and can test for yourself, and don't bother with what someone is supposed to have said, somewhere, some time, without us being able to verify all the links between them and us.

Still, even that does not seem to be enough for most (if not all) flat earth "believers". I'm at a loss what else they could possible want. It has become like a cult, where there's only one dogma: "the earth is flat".

Considering how bad the schools are, it is not at all surprising that some would accept nonsense like flat earth and the many other errors being spread today.

Thanks for stating that fact. The wise will know how to interpret it.
