  • We believe that we are pleasing God when we defend His creation.
    .
It's not to your discredit to INTEND to "defend God's creation."
    .
The problem is you're not paying attention to the facts of reality before your eyes and instead proclaim the subjective reality that's in your mind.
    .
Provide a model of your "flat earth" that shows why we see the phases of the moon (and other things) that we in fact see in the sky.
    .
You guys keep accusing everyone else of using "fake CGI" images of the earth when we try to explain the cosmos, but you have never been able to provide anything better than cartoons for your own propositions, and the cartoons you provide don't support what you claim.
    .
Even when you say you intend to defend God's creation, you end up making a MOCKERY of God's creation -- making claims that cannot be supported.

  • Dude,

I didn't say "globe earth." I said to FEer's, "where's the beef?" You have lots of buns and pickles, but no beef.

And forget the "they." And forget the exactitude of "flat earth." You can show me the Church's magisterium saying, "pancake," "circle" or some equivalent authoritative teaching to the effect that the earth is, well, "flat."

If there is no curvature on the earth, then what are we to think that it is? a REALLY REALLY big globe? Why would we think that, when even human tradition holds that it is not.

Try to think before typing and do some research. Honest research. Where you suspend judgment.
Eclipses neither prove nor disprove the flat earth.

Your facts are the facts of secular humanism. Secular humanism does not teach that God created the heavens and the earth.

Thanks, but I'm not interested in seeing the world through the lens, or perspective, of secular humanism.

You're equating what you see when you open your eyes and use your mind with "secular humanism?"

With my own eyes I can see that the earth is a flat plain. No curve. Objects which are supposed to be too far away (given the fictional curvature) to be seen with our eyes can actually be seen. No evidence of a curvature from any viewpoint that I can see.

And therefore you have decided that anything that would make a problem for your already-decided flat-earthism you will have no part of, since you've already made up your mind. Correct?
    .
IOW -- you have already made up your mind, so you won't be confused with any facts.

So, the lady really did get sawed in half? That's awful!

Hey, walk by sight, not by faith, right?

One of the dangers of FEthink is the distinct possibility of perfect apostasy / Atheism if they're ever convinced that they're wrong "because the (Church/Bible/God/Fathers etc.) lied/is a myth" etc. etc. etc.

Anything but facing one's own error born of one's own pride.

Case of one extreme leading to another.
    "Lord, have mercy".

You've chosen to believe that modern science has all the "facts." That's your choice, not mine.

You are aware that all FE people here are former globe earthers, yes?
Therefore, they were not "already decided."

    1. Distinctions:
     1. Arriving at a position i.e. "... they were not..." (past to present)
     2. Maintaining said position i.e. "... you won't be..." (present to future)
    2. .*., "surprise" you've either:
     1. Put it wrong (i.e. "Lying") or
     2. Got it wrong (i.e. "Special")

    "Lord, have mercy".

I don't think that the flat earth can be said to be something that's made up by me. The belief in a flat earth was held by most Catholics for the first 1500 years of the Church. The flat earth existed long before any of us were born, and it was created by God, and it's described in Scripture, though Scripture doesn't specifically say..."the earth is a flat plane."

The ancient Hebrews believed that the earth is a flat plane, with the firmament above, and the waters above the firmament. This is how they interpreted Scripture - the very same Scripture that we are supposed to accept, even though the Church has not specifically ruled on the shape of the earth.
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

Huh... I always had a different understanding of original sin...
So in your religion, the earth turns flat when you're "born again?"
