  • The word "globe" does not appear anywhere at anytime in the Bible.
    .
    .
Instead, Our Lord chose to use the word "compass."

    .
    .
    .
What is the difference between a globe and a compass?
    .
    .
One is a ball, and one is a circle.

    .
    .
A compass is both a noun (a tool to draw or inscribe a circle) and a verb (to go around, to go about, to encircle).
    .
"I will compass Thine altar, O Lord..."
    .
    .
Read the passage from Isaiah 40:22 in the original 1610 Douay Rheims Old Testament, pg. 1512:

"He that sitteth upon the compasse of the earth..."

  • Not true, every approved DR Bible I have or have seen besides the one you post says globe. It irrelevant anyway but hey...they are still approved and have been for a long time.
You have an 1899 version of the DR, which was significantly modified after 200 years of suppression.
    .
    .
The REAL Douay-Rheims of 1610 nowhere uses the word globe. EVER.

    KJV onlyists' Prostratant cousin.

Yet more evidence that these people are of another, false, faith and creed.

    Their "church" perished long ago.

Better yet... when you can read and understand this text in it's original language, then I might take your word a little more seriously....

  • Exactly.
    .
    .
This is called a globus crucifer.

    .

    .
    .
    NOT a gyrum crucifer.

  • How come there are no landmasses or oceans painted on the globus crucifer if it is supposed to represent the atheist globe earth model?
    .
    .
Because it DOESN'T represent the atheist globe earth model.
    .
    .
It represents the Biblical account of ALL of His Creation, as told in Genesis.
    .

    Allo allo allo everyone!

Listen mate! Looks to me that your post is a pretext to not actually address the arguments.

There are lots of words in latin such as globam, pilla, sphera that could be used to in latin, but are not. So when St. Jerome was translating from the hebrew, you didn't think he thought of that?

Obviously you're smarter than St. Jerome!

    Too kind.

Not to be a downer but he could have also, for just one, have passed out after a scrumpy bender which is kind of what he reads like save there'd likely be more typos.
