How does the earth being flat vs a globe actually impact me though? It seems more like it erodes people's trust in NASA and the power of speculation.

I've used this Fr Ripperger quote before, and while he's probably not a flat earther, his assessment is pertinent, especially since one cosmological model is true, and the other is a lie.

The common teaching among philosophers is, what your cosmology is, how you view the physical world, the world around you, will determine what your understanding of who God is.  Due to modern philosophers, people's understanding of the real world has degraded their ability to actually understand things about God by the natural light of reason."    

The psychology of the flat Earth is like a puppet show: at the end of the day, the Sun disappears behind a curtain and refits at a pawn shop. Then when he's ready, he comes out like a comedian or an actor from behind the curtain to do it all again. The flat Earth has props whereas the spherical Earth is more the seamless garment.

My sense is that the flat Earth is absurd but I've never heard that it's a heresy. Heliocentrism, however, is a heresy and it's absurd too.

One should not have confidence in ʝʊdɛօ-Masonic controlled NASA anyway, since they are Satanically influenced and full of lies.

What "power of speculation" is in reference? Dreams? Be careful about being too dreamy, the Bible says dreams have cause many to go astray. "The hopes of a man that is void of understanding are vain and deceitful: and dreams lift up fools. For dreams have deceived many, and they have failed that put their trust in them."

I was more rebutting Dankward when he said "the figure of the earth and the nature of the universe around us are of key importance to all humans on earth and we actually rely on knowing the truth about this question in our every day lives, more so in modern days than in the past, whether we realize it or not." Basically this comment he made was justifying why people who believe in the globe model would fight super hard for it. I'm like "how would it even affect them though?" It seems more to me that they placed their faith institutions like NASA and so its jeopardizing that faith.

As far as "power of speculation" what I mean is that a lot of the globe earth arguments require speculation vs actual experiments. "Well your vision bends around the curvature" vs actually proving it with an experiment. It's just kind of made up like evolution. Some people on the globe earth side run the experiments like flat earthers but I see more globe earthers just waving their arms around, showing some math formula and saying "proof!" I'm saying these types of formulas are basically speculations and have limits. Modern science tends to exagerrate how far/well/powerful these types of speculative formulas are at predicting reality.
