  • Sungenis chose quotes to support the globe
is book cover from some very non-Catholic sources:

    George Orwell?!

George Orwell was a well-known member of the Socialist Fabian Society.

Which in turn has its roots in the occult Rosicrucians.

Why would a Trad quote anti-Catholic occult authors for his book?

Because the Church doesn't provide Sungenis Catholic sources for the globe.

  • "Many people believe they are thinking when they are only rearranging their pre-existing prejudices."

    Lol...
Typical liberal. Sungenis' reference quote shows he's guilty of his own assertions against flat earth.

  • Why does a Trad quote the atheist/existentialist "freethinker" Johann Goethe, who described himself as "most decidedly non-Christian"?

Goethe defended sex with children, describing it as "natural,  even though it proceeds against nature." He also said, "I like boys, but girls are even nicer."

Goethe also loved Kabbalah and esotericism, incoporating this into his novel, Faust.

Why would a Trad pick THIS MAN for a back cover quote to defend globe earth?

    Sungenis has some strange heroes?

Sungenis couldn't find any quotes from Catholics to defend earth as a globe??

  • Why does Sungenis quote Freemason Brother Mark Twain, member of St. Louis Polar Star Lodge #79, showing his love for science?

Why does a Trad Catholic choose to quote Twain, who often railed against organized religion?

These very strange choices/admirations  don't appear to come from a typical Trad Catholic.

And I haven't even opened the book yet!

  • No doubt the globe was pretty popular in Twain's day, so the following quote actually works against Sungenis.

"There is something fascinating about science.  One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact."

  • “Simply put, ‘The Principle’ is not a film designed to convince anyone that geocentrism is necessarily shown to be true based on existing observations.”—Rick deLano December 19, 2013

Seriously?  So Sungenis and Delano aren't even trying convince anyone that geocentirsm is necessarily true based on existing observations?  What?!!

Thanks for posting this thread, SB.  Great observations you guys.  This Sungenis book is already falling apart before it even gets out the door.

  • The final quote, by Martin Selbrede, is utterly silly in its suggestion that flat earthers have a "pre-existing prejudice. "

NO flat earthers are prejudiced to flat earth, because ALL flat earthers are former globe believers.

Selbrede is problematic for Sungenis as well...more to come on that.

  • Selbrede runs the Chalcedon Foundation, a Presbyterian-founded thinktank that calls itself "neo-Puritan. "

They have deep pockets having been financed by a couple of billionaires.

Perhaps the Protestant Selbrede's Chalceon Foundation was the source of DeLano and Sungenis's funding for The Principle?

They have some very strange, non-Catholic bedfellows.

Then what is The Principle designed to convince people of, if not geocentrism??

  • Have Delano and Sungenis made enemies through dishonest practices?  Most of the cast of their movie are angry with them for misrepresenting what they were doing.
Popular Science Article on The Principle shows that Mr S and Mr D might not be sure what they represent.

    https://www.popsci.com/article/science/how-conspiracy-theorist-duped-worlds-biggest-physicists

"The film is not about geocentrism," DeLano told me flatly. Rather, it's about the Copernican principle -- Copernicus's idea that the Earth doesn't occupy a cosmically special place in the universe. DeLano then took me on a circuitous talk -- through dark matter, through Galileo, through the cosmic microwave background -- before landing on his thesis: "The fact of the matter is we don't know whether the universe has a center," he said, "but we can obseeeeeeeerve through a telescope that there is a center and guess who's sitting at the center of it -- us." His favorite phrase, employed whenever I failed to understand or follow, was, "Do your homework."

  • Rick DeLano is a nasty personality, that treats all who object with vitriol & scorn. It's good the article pointed it out.

He sank his own movie by lying and getting Kate Mulgrew and the rest under false pretenses.
