Carried to its logical extreme, the elephant in the room would be that on a "flat" earth, we should be able to see Catalina, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, Antarctica, the Galapagos, Easter Island, Pitcairn, Guam, Iwo Jima, Midway, the Philippines, Formosa, Indonesia, Alaska, the Aleutians, Siberia, and Japan. Why can't we?
