Your experiment is wrong, camera lens needs to be perfectly in level with the table and in this case your camera is slightly beneath the table...you people know nothing about perspective and vanishing points, i study architecture i know what im talking about, things that are far away appear as they are closer to the ground/horizon but they will NEVER touch it nor cross it. The only thing that can be at exact same level as the horizon line is the thing that's exactly at your eye level. Sun is obviously not at our eye level if its 3000 miles above ground...open sketchup and draw flat earth model with the sun to scale and then lower yourself to human perspective 20,000 miles from the sun...the sun will be NOWHERE NEAR horizon line, it will be high in the sky and should be visible from any place on earth.

<---- That's the author!+Jason Kalidas No matter what lenght it is from the ground to your eyes it will always LOOK as if it is actually at a higher ground from where you are standing due to the PERSPECTIVE and that is exactly WHY I have to have the camera slightly below the table so the edge of the table ends up in the middle of the camera/screen just as we see out in the real world at the horizon. So your camera was lower? Of course the coin will disappear! If you have the camera dead level with table -- the coin won't disappear!

if I had the camera at level with the table it would be the same as lying on the ground with your head to look at the horizon, wich normal people don't do. they stand up straight and look at the horizon. the table that represents the horizon in this video MUST BE at the center of the camera/screen in order to capture the exact same illusion we see at the REAL horizon, wich is that the ground rises as it gets FURTHER away from the observer. simple, really.

your debate doesn't look good when you resort to insults so rapidly- but anyway thats your choice to go that way ! .. Please use your brain properly for a second ... to model people standing up with your experiment you would have to put the camera centre slightly above the level of the table - YOU PUT IT BELOW!! Wheres the logic??
Gift From God 2 years agoYou fail to understand the simpliest explainations and honestly i'm not sure how to break it down even more for you to understand it. Lots of people here perfectly understand what I have demonstrated and the explainations for the demonstration. Let me put it like this:
If I were to raise the camera to the table and look down to the edge of the other side of the table it would be equivalent to lying with your face on The ground since the camera in this video represents your eyes. Also the camera i used are capable of taking great detailed shots of the moon wich means it would be impossible for the coin/flashlight to act as the sun/moon at the end of the meter-long table. When you're outside looking at the horizon it appears to be a bit higher up than the actual ground you're standing on
due to the perspective and no matter how high up you go it's ALWAYS at your eyelevel wich means its flat and continous.
The space between the camera and the tables in this video represents the ground between you and the horizon wich again appears to tilt up the further it comes to the point of the horizon. This will be my final explaination. If you cant get it it's not my fault : P
