  • You are out of your depth on this one. Please stay out of my response to this lady, you don't know what you're talking about.
She is talking about the Four Corners. The can only mean the statement from the Apocolypse as the others do not pertain to the Earth. Let's look at both the passages

Apocalypse 7:1 "I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth"

Isaiah 40:22 " It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the earth"

They are totally contradictory if one is to take it literally. Your mention of the Firmament only shows that you are mindlessly spamming empty talking points.
You're all wrong. This dogma clearly teaches that the Earth is a tetrahedron.

  • And this is why I can't stand it when they bring religion into this subject. If they are going to try to prove FE, they definitely can't do it using Scripture without maliciously distorting it.

This is NOT an accurate quote of Isaiah 40:22.
    .
    .
The version you posted is from the 1899 Douay-Rheims.
    .
    .
The 1610 Douay-Rheims does NOT say "globe."
    .
    .
    Therefore, there is no contradiction.

I have to agree plus I did a little research of my own and came up with this:

And he shall set up a standard unto the nations, and shall assemble the fugitives of Israel, and shall gather together the dispersed of Juda from the four quarters of the earth. Isaiah 11:12
The far ends of the world; all parts of the world in other words.   The word translated “corners,” as in the phrase above, is the Hebrew word, KANAPHKanaph is translated in a variety of ways. However, it generally means extremity. As in the farthest or most remote part.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • Perhaps as you now have a "room of your own", you could sticky basic refs to save time and effort later. Make a point of consolidation.
    Can I make a sticky?
    .
    .
Thought only mods could do that.

A circle, divided into 4 quarters, also has 4 corners.

You've proved too much, and counted too little.

I see you have no refutation for the 1610 Douay-Rheims, which makes no mention of a globe anywhere.

Nope, you got me there; I have no refutation for even an authorized translation of the inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God.

    Aw shucks.

  • You must have missed the part where there are no corners on a circle. Even on your pie picture there are 12 corners that I count.
The four corners of the flat earth are not on the circle. :fryingpan:

Why not just give us the quote from 1610 Douay-Rheims?  Save us the trouble.

It is proven that we who do not agree with you have the correct interpretation, because if the Bible states literally as you say it does referring to the word "corner."  Then the Church would have made it a dogma to believe such.  Just as the Church has made it a dogma about the Eucharist; a teaching hard for non-Catholics to understand; the Church, Rome has said so.

Not so when it comes to your interpretation of the word "corner".

Within a vast globe, there are many corners.

People come from every corner of the world to see a great event.

    Please pray for my soul.
