Yes, it does...You were given them and you scoffed.
I do as as well even though "my" monks were, by and large, "Mertonian" Buddhists by the time I got there, which explains why I didn't stay there.Hippies in habits...sheesh.
Time to flee to the forests and mountains with the "Rule" in hand, and start over...St Benedict, pray for us.
IF my mother passes before I do, that's exactly what I intend to do.Ora pro indeed.
I'll pray for your intention, it's indeed a noble one. I had my chance, but along came a woman with a different idea...
..The Bible says nothing of the shape of the Earth. No they have not. Verses describing firmaments etc... do not tell me the Earth is flat.
'Four Corners'...does that tell you Earth is a ball? Is there some translation that tells you that 'corners' are something other than what we understand them to be?I've seen those darn mental gymnastics again in trying to degrade the terms used in Scripture to fit the false globe earth. The deception is diabolic.
The only thing FEers have is the firmament and that can be explained in a Globe Earth scenario as well.
If converting us is so important to you then post them again for the new lurkers if not us who apparently missed them.
I'll be happy to start a new thread.
Ah, so now you implicitly claim that the Bible contradicts itself (unless you are ignorant of Scripture, in which case you should not use it to prove points). You say the Earth literally has four corners because of your interpretation of Scripture. Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the Earth". Now whether one thinks this translation should read circle, round, around etc... the Latin word "gyrum" definitely does not mean any shape with corners.Does the Bible contradict itself? Are the meaning of these passages literal or allegorical, metaphorical, etc...?Also, great point DZ.
