Another image I found of the globus cruciger that goes against the notion that it purely represents a globe earth. Note the concentric circles representing the planets around the center, where the earth is, noted by what I think is the face of the painter

I thought this was interesting to find on the Westminster Abbey website. Not sure how to find out the artist though
