First, many people see a face when they look at the full moon. Others see a face in profile when they look at the crescent moon. This is NOT what is meant by "The old man in the moon."

The old man in the moon is usually seen as an old man carrying a bundle of sticks upon his back, sometimes carrying a forked stick and lantern and accompanied by a little dog. There are many European legends explaining how he got there.

A German version of the story goes something like this:
Ages ago there went one Sunday morning an old man into the wood to hew sticks. He cut a bunch and slung it on a stout staff, cast it over his shoulder, and began to trudge home with his burden. On his way, he met a handsome man in a Sunday suit, walking towards the church.

"Don't you know that it is Sunday, when all good Christians should be resting from their labours?" said the stranger.

"Sunday on earth, or Monday in heaven, it's all the same to me!" laughed the old man.

"Then bear your bundle forever, and as you value not Sunday on earth, yours shall be a perpetual moon day in heaven; and you shall stand for eternity in the moon, a warning to all sabbath-breakers!" and the stranger banished him to the moon.

Some time later in Germany, along came the Bismark. Then came Adolf Hitler.

Question: How can you tell this is not really the Old Man on the Moon?

Because everyone knows there are no park benches on the moon.

Because he's standing in the sunlight which is 200 degrees, but he has no heat shield.

There's no way he would be shooing a fly because there is no air on the moon for flies.

The sun shines on him from the LEFT side but he's shading his eyes from the RIGHT side.

He's standing under a sky full of stars but we know on the moon you can't see stars (Apollo 11).

The sunlight on his left side and on the ground looks like moonlight but he's supposed to be ON the moon.

The so-called earth hanging there in the sky doesn't look anything like the real earth, does it.

The moon is covered with moon dust but we can't see any footprints so how did he GET there?

If he were really standing on the moon, he'd at least be wearing a space suit!

This is pretty funny - Smedley providing a photo of what he says is "flat earth from space" but it's obviously showing curvature on the globe earth. This is a TOTAL FAIL of ridiculous flat-earthism.

If this is "flat" then why is there a horizon without any "ice wall?"
And why does the horizon wobble up and down in the middle and the right side?
Were they having trouble controlling the curvature effect of their wide angle lens?

Flat-earthers don't have an intelligible answer, as usual.
What happens when your high altitude balloon travels over the horizon?
Why does all the land below disappear and an entirely new view appear?
What happens when you turn the camera DOWN about 30 degrees and look below?
Why do they never do that?
Answer:
They never do that because with the wide-angle lens settings that give the illusion of a straight horizon, they'd see quite the opposite when looking downwards!
They have to be very careful to keep the distortion under control.
They don't dare publish the incriminating evidence.
They have to cherry-pick just the frames that work for their flattard deception.
