The topic of the SST was the stuff of front page news in the '60s, '70s and '80s.

Kind of faded in the '90s, because of the inconvenience and annoyance of sonic booms from the Concorde.

Then the Concorde was grounded forever in 2003, and soon after the Space Shuttle (which had a DOUBLE sonic boom).
.
Today, we are so far removed from that hot topic of transportation by faster than the speed of sound,
that the very term SST now has a new meaning!

I considered putting this OP in the Computers/Technology sub-forum, but thought it would be better off here.

After cassini's post on passengers all reporting they could see the earth's curvature out the window of the SST Concorde.
.
Which puts the lie to the flat-earthdom syndromer canard that not even from a balloon at 120,000 ft can you see curvature.
.
Because for 40 years thousands of SST passengers all knew earth's curvature first hand from half that altitude.
.
Apparently flat-earthdom syndrome had to wait for the Concorde to fade into the past before it could grab an ignorant crowd.

LOL  As if this proves the earth is round!  The Concorde has no choice but to fly LEVEL because at such speeds, it would crash into the ground flying over some imaginary notion of curve. None of the instruments in a plane use curved coordinates.  They use level ones measured against tarmac just before take off.  Ask any pilot. The ground is not even enough to calculate all the valleys, hills and mountains.  Fortunately, we know the earth is not a globe and level is level and planes fly safely level no matter what the patrons see out the windows.
