Apparently, Oxygen turns into a pale blue or "sky blue" liquid around -300F and into a solid around -360F.  NASA says "Outer Space" is around -450F.  Also, apparently Ozone is triple bonded Oxygen and Ozone freezes into a dark blue solid around -420F.

  • Yes, I've seen this and think it's possible that frozen oxygen might be what it is up there, but, of course, who knows?

There was some alleged whistleblower (without any way to verify his story) who wrote that he worked on a top secret project at one of the Antarctic science stations where one of the things they were studying was what they called "sky ice", which were pieces chopped out of where the firmament touched down.  He said that it sublimated directly into oxygen (rather than going to a liquid first).

  • This was a picture taken of the very blue sky in Antarctica, and you can notice the curvature of the cloud bank.

That curved cloud bank is not something one sees often, and would be consistent with firmament curvature.

  • Here's something called a "sky stone," which is made mostly of oxygen (giving it its blue color).  Some of these were found by various tribal chieftans in Africa, who told the people he gave it to that it "fell from the sky".

    Quote
According to local legends, the Skystone was discovered in Sierra Leone, West Africa, in 1990 by archaeologist and geologist Angelo Pitoni. The locals believed that these stones were once beings that inhabited the sky. Annoyed by their transgressions, God transformed them into stones and cast them down to Earth to be buried in the ground.

Pitoni sent the stone for analysis to laboratories in Rome, Germany, and Tokyo. The analysis revealed that the stone consisted of 77% oxygen, 20% carbon, and lime, with traces of silicon and other materials. Researchers concluded that the composition of the rock was unlike any other found on Earth, suggesting an extraterrestrial origin.

    .

I've heard of these things. I think most likely they are a hoax put on by the people selling them for hundreds of dollars for a pebble. There is no independent lab analysis to verify the frankly bizarre claims they've made about these rocks. And the story has no proof behind it either except that the family apparently owned mineral rights in some place in Africa, and that's about it.

Yeah, it's debated what this stuff is.  Not sure about the video, as he seems to be wearing gloves (which suggests it may be cold, i.e. frozen oxygen?).  Not sure.  Of course, the trival chieftan reportedly said that it came from these creatures that lived in the sky and who were frozne for their crimes.

  • And as a side note, the temperature of the Dark Side of the moon is -380 degrees F; the Light Side is supposedly 260 degrees F.  Two more reasons we did not go to the moon.  I do not believe the NASA craft could have withstood those temperatures; and the space suits did not have sufficient coolant systems for the Light Side temperatures.

Of course not.  Can you imagine the HVAC systems that would be required to keep them alive in those extreme conditions … and the power that would require?  To say nothing of their suits.
