Dave Weiss does it again! He's really onto something, and here is why:
He talks to ChatGPT (a generative AI) and the very DOWNSIDE of AI (no intelligence) is why it works so well. What I mean: the AI doesn't "see where this is going" and prematurely head off certain discussions. It has no idea why Dave is asking these questions at the beginning. It happily volunteers the fact that towers in motion, further apart, etc. would make GPS calculations increasingly complex and difficult.
Eventually Dave corners the AI and then its training -- with tons of globe propaganda -- kicks in. The AI then proceeds to contradict itself, and everyone can see it!
This is SO MUCH more interesting than traditional Flat Earth debates. The AI never loses patience, never calls names or "rage quits", is always willing to admit facts (unless they DIRECTLY claim Flat Earth), is relatively objective, etc.
This series of his, this idea, was BRILLIANT.
Jump to 9:00 when the AI starts to contradict itself.
It always plays out the same way:
"I see where this could seem contradictory..."
"I can understand your confusion..."
And you scream back "NO! There's no confusion. It doesn't SEEM contradictory. It IS a contradiction. You're the one contradicting yourself like a fool!"
But here's the payoff: any honest person in the audience would be saying that. They would side with the human that YES, it IS contradictory. Dave has successfully built up his case, and the conclusion is inescapable.
The AI just admitted that the higher up the cell towers, the less accurate GPS would be. Then the AI brings in "satellites" which are 12,500 miles up, and all logic and reason go into la-la land. A whole alternate version of reality. A dimension of "trust the high priests" and "blind faith".
At 16:00 you have a classic situation -- Dave talks about being able to see a 747 with the naked eye at 7 miles altitude. Then he asks "What about 14 miles? 25 miles? 50 miles?" and the brain dead AI, being completely computer-objective zero-intelligence databank machine volunteers, "No, it would be completely invisible at that altitude" being COMPLETELY oblivious to where this argument is going. Imagine Dave getting a Globe debater to admit this! They would cut it off miles before it got to this point. Instead, Dave gets to make his powerful argument to the audience, and people can easily understand and see the logic (since the viewers are human and DO have reason, common sense, and intelligence)
This punches all kinds of holes in the idea that Flat Earth is stupid, unreasonable, or lacking basis in reality. Quite the contrary! It proves that Flat Earth is EXTREMELY reasonable, and in fact the only reasonable explanation for many things.
Again, this was the best idea Dave has ever come up with.
