Title: Geocentrism and NASA footage?
Post by: Cryptinox on March 23, 2023, 09:20:07 PM
Could somebody here please explain how NASA footage doesn't serve as a refutation of geocentrism if someone took it for granted that NASA footage is real? I don't see how it doesn't contradict geocentrism as it shows the Earth moving. (I myself hold geocentrism but I just want to understand how alleged footage of space doesn't serve as a refutation of it without going into whether the footage is genuine or not)

I’m certainly not convinced that any NASA images are real and I assume most are fake. If the ones that show the Earth turning are real, it could be that the satellite is the thing that is moving.

Indeed, as Quo mentioned, the perception of motion is relative, so a perception that the earth is moving can be created by the instrument that's taking the pictures actually being the one moving.  Even Einstein admitted that he couldn't think of any optical experiment that could prove that the earth is in motion given his belief in the relativity of motion.

Of course, NASA has a long and well-docuмented track record of perpetrating fraud, so it's impossible to assume that anything produced by NASA is actually real.  One could write a book hundreds of pages long docuмenting NASA fraud.

Right. A funny thing happened to me a few times. I was ready to back out of a parking space and suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a car going into the space next to me. It made me feel extremely disoriented as if I had taken my foot off the brake and that I was the one who was moving. It is a horrible feeling and even made me dizzy.

This has happened to me also … where I panicked and stomped on the brake, thinking I had forgotten to put the car in park and that my car was the one rolling.

:laugh2: YES exactly. I panicked and pushed on the brake harder thinking the brakes weren’t working.

Right.  You stomp on the brake and the car is still "moving", so then you have this feeling that the brakes don't work, increasing the state of panic ... until you finally realize what's going on and breathe a sigh of relief.
