Yeah, the speculative end of FE is where I disagree. They do the same thing that the heliocentrists do in making the universe this endless expanse of islands and new earths, except on a flat plane.
The only channel I entertain the notion of other lands is VibesofCosmos because he actually grounds it in some form of proof since his maps are drawn from the features of the moon and then implements the legends of other lands into his model to try and identify these features.
But otherwise I chock it up to the paganism and unbelief of the Dubay-types. They've come to a position that proves the limits of the world, yet can't accept those limits and allow imagination to run wild.
Yeah, there MIGHT be a little bit more land beyond the Antarctic wall. After all, no one has observed or measured the "size" of the firmament, have they? The height perhaps. But no one has observed it curving down, nor has anyone "ran into it" going vertical.
To their credit, at least their idea about some lost islands/continents is at least more realistic -- still being on EARTH with oxygen and normal life, part of God's creation, etc. I don't think you have quite "Star Trek" level of new worlds to explore, but there might be something.
Either way, it's 100% suspicious that they won't let harmless boats with a few explorers "do their thing". It's not like anyone is on the hook or responsible if something happens to these would-be modern explorers. They are perfectly willing to take responsibility and risk their lives. But ALL governments on earth, including China, Russia, NATO countries, BRICS countries, etc are all unanimous that Antarctica is off-limits.
And did you hear? The Antarctic treaty was signed in 1958, and NASA was founded in 1959! That's too much to be a coincidence.
But you hit the nail on the head. Among "truthers" there are unfortunately some who don't have the truth of the Faith, so they're flailing about like a drowning man in the ocean. They aren't malicious, but they're still wrong about many things that were handed to US on a silver platter. I, for one, am grateful for all the truths I got for free with the Catholic package. It makes finding the truth in a world of lies much easier -- we have some items in the crossword puzzle pre-filled-in, which makes completing the puzzle much easier.
