  • "Flat earth" discussions should have their own subforum or even their own forum (create a new one called 'Catholic Science' or something).  Entirely too many posts about this topic; the debates permeate every discussion.  Very annoying.
The Fighting Errors subforum IS the de facto flat earth subforum.
    .
    .
    .
The fact that you globalists keep starting FE threads in General Discussion subforum is really not very smart.

  • The appropriate category for FEism is "error", not the fighting of.

  • The Flat Earth Theory is being used to troll traditional Catholics and possibly confuse people who read CathInfo. If lies are allowed to be continually repeated, people might start to believe them. That is why untruth needs to be nipped in the bud. Flat Earth Theory threads should be banned completely or at least quarantined to their own subforum.

I'm going to keep this quote as I think it is very revealing.

It shows the sheer maliciousness of those who oppose the flat earth. When I talk to people like this, especially trads, there is rarely at attempt to engage in the issues. There is an a priori rejection of the evidence.

How can you talk to such a person? You can't really. You can just pray for them and hope that if God doesn't open their eyes, he will at least punish them.

Try and explain to  them that they are contradicting Catholic principles and logic all you want, they won't listen. I see it all the time. It is pure malice. Such is our condition as children of Adam.
Eclipses neither prove nor disprove the flat earth.

I'm going to keep this quote as I think (that ) it is very revealing, for it shows the sheer worldliness ( :jester:) of those who propose a flat earth.

When I talk to people like this, especially trads, there is rarely an attempt to consider any issue in a Catholic manner; they have an a priori aversion to Scholastic principle.

How can you talk to such a person? You can't really. You can just pray for them and know that if God doesn't open their eyes, then He is permitting them to remain their own punishment.

Try to explain to them that they are contradicting Catholic principles all (that) you want, but they won't hear; I see this all the time, it is pure pride-fueled nonsense.

Such is their condition as pawns of the Adversary.

  • It has become repeatedly and abundantly clear that FE is being presented as an article of Faith.

As it is not an article of the Catholic Faith, then it is of another.

.^. Those who do not denounce this practice and abstain from it in the future should be banned for proselytizing.

  • Look at what happens to water in zero G. It takes the spherical shape.

Surface tension in regular gravity can curve the surface of the water.

Water finds its own level and takes the shape of the container it is in? Freezing water in no way turns the flat earth into a sphere.

"Zero gravity" is not actually zero gravity.
    .
    It is a contained fall.
    .
The falling is contained inside the aircraft (or spacecraft).
    .
    .
Therefore, it is just like a raindrop, no different.
    .
This has nothing to do with the behavior of water on the ground, which is ALWAYS flat and NEVER curves.
