Come on now, to say that something is motionless doesn't mean that it's completely static. If a tree is planted in the ground, and the branches move because of the wind, you don't say that the tree has moved (from its location).
.
If something is motionless, it doesn't move.
.
During an earthquake, entire buildings can move off their foundations, and entire mountains can move from their place.
.
In L.A. there were mountains that grew 6 feet taller during the Northridge quake of 1994.
.
If a mountain range moves up 6 feet, the earth moves in the opposite direction a relative amount, maybe 0.00000001 inch.
.
A seismograph measures the movement of the earth, that is, when the earth moves during an earthquake.
.
So the movement of the earth is an established and observed fact of reality.
.
It's not the place of the Church to proclaim something that can be so roundly refuted by simple observation.
