Retarded nonsense; not even "ha ha" funny.

If you read that you will lose at least 15 IQ points.

And let's be real -- those who believe the earth is a spinning ball can't spare them!

  • Well, the firmament would trap in heat like a greenhouse, so we'd all be cooked.

You think God doesn't know what He is doing? You think God can't create a Sun with the right heat output to avoid destroying the earth?

Maybe the Sun isn't as big as NASA says it is, is much closer, and doesn't have enough heat output to cook everything under the Firmament. Which is what, in fact, we observe.

Accept it. God is our Creator, and He has us creatures in His snow-globe. We are like fish in a fishbowl; there is no escaping the container, or escaping His hands in any way. That thought doesn't bother me.

Please understand that you are conflating globe Earth theory with Heliocentrisim.

I agree Matthew, a load of 'satire' as it said at the bottom of the article.
I put it up to keep members informed of the bullsh.. going on out there.

Yes, I fully understood right away it was supposed to be satire, or a form of humor.

But maybe it's because I don't find a mass deception of humanity to be "funny" -- but I don't find such material humorous at all. I have a great sense of humor (as anyone who knows me will attest).
But if you attempt to joke about murdering my kids, mass rape of German women after WW2, Jєωιѕн war crimes, leading millions of souls into Hell, etc. I'm not going to find it funny. Some things just aren't appropriate for humor.

Who could possibly disagree with such a statement?!  But, of course, this all just simply begs the question or perhaps stated another way assumes evidence as proof of something very much in question and contested (by people operating in good faith) either by interpretation of that same evidence and or by entirely different evidence.

Globe Earthers simply don't have to cower to Flat Earthers being offended by such a story no more than they have to cower at us being offended by some similar type of satire raised against us.  We don't believe them.  They don't believe us.  Why can't we just finally agree to disagree until and unless the Church in her wisdom makes some sort of definitive faith obliging declaration on the matter.

  • I'll tell you what...

The powers at be made damn sure even God's most faithful would still buy into modern science BS.

Because one side is pushing a lie, and on top of that, both sides seem to be very concerned about truth. If the truth is being pressed, fine. But both sides are being pressed, one by the world at large (which doesn't necessarily mean it's true), and one by the face of "the largest Traditional Catholic forum", which is a sort of support line for Traditional Catholics being tossed about by the chaos of modern events, who are on high alert looking for crazy people to avoid, and sanity to latch on to. I'm not convinced FE is a solid enough theory to publicly declare as a certainty or even just more likely than GE. I'd like to talk in person to a FE some day to try to understand how each of us can be so confident in opposing beliefs. I want to understand the logic behind it, and where the error in either or both parties lies.

In theory I agree, but the reality is that this issue has caused people on both sides on CI to descend into unnecessary personal ad hominum attacks.  I'm not claiming any sort of victim status but just examine the record.  Some of the attacks are really nuts and even vile detractions/slanders.  Not exactly the kind of example, a traditional Catholic forum should be providing to the public.

As an aside, it would be interesting if it could somehow be determined how many folks on this forum after all the time it's been going have actually switched from FE to GE or visa versa.  Not a whole lot I bet -- even if they were to admit it -- if even any and for every switch to one side there may well have been a switch to the other side.  Who knows?!
