  • Now, even proponents of flat earth will admit that Antarctica will get 6 weeks of solid sun every year (not the 6 months that is generally claimed).

How can that happen if Antarctica is a big ring around a circular planet?

  • I can answer this.

There is evidence to think that there is not 24 hour sun in antartica.

    The following video explains this

  • This video doesn't address the curvature issue, prove 24 hour sun.

  • This guys sounds like he's trying to be intellectually honest.  But he still believes in flat earth ... just thinks that there's no good working map out there right now.

I don't buy most of his argument about Antarctica.  Just because people have been there and taken some pictures doesn't mean that it exists in the way that we're told.  Now, if there's a provable flight over Antarctica, then that's a different story.  But there's allegedly only ONE (run by Quantas out of Australia) ... and some people have claimed that they try to book it but can't.  So I don't know.

  • Its not just one flight.  If you google it, there are several ways to get to Antarctica...There are cruises, expeditions, ect.  I had posting a link to several in a post a long time ago.

  • Many flat earthers' arguments rest on the notion that there is some magnetic force that mysteriously keeps ALL international travelers in a circular, flat motion, thereby PREVENTING THEM FROM SEEING the ends of the earth where giant ice walls, or cliffs dropping into an abyss, are located, despite travelers' attempt to fly or float in a linear mode to a destination on the other side of the world. :laugh2:

  • Did you see the recent story about the Fitbit device revealing military FOB' in AFG and the Middle East?

The app that tracks them, Strava, shows no significant penetrations of Antarctica.

In other words,  no one has gone very far inland from the shore at all.

TO Antarctica vs. OVER Antarctica are two completely different things.  If you can fly OVER Antarctica, then at the very least the popularly-circulating flat earth map is completely wrong.  Getting TO Antarctica is no problem regardless of which model you hold to be true.

  • No, you cannot traverse Antarctica by air.

In fact,  you cannot fly from McMurdo to the pole.
They can only get there by snowcat and it takes 3 weeks. Only 50 miles per day.

Correction.  The only thing that proves is that no Fitbit-wearer has penetrated very far into Antarctica.  Please try to apply logic.

    So ...

people CAN get there?  [whether by air is not of primary importance]

    I believe so anyway.
Eclipses neither prove nor disprove the flat earth.
