I confess I have had this discussion with several of you many months ago, without much satisfaction. I have been interested in the study of gravity since my high school physics days and remain unconvinced to this day but that’s another topic. For reasons unknown I am going to list some lingering issues with the flat earth theory to see if any responses peek my curiosity. Thanks in advance.
1) have you ever flown on the Concorde when it was flying? Earth looked like a globe to me! 2) my good friend and his dad, both Navy pilots with absolutely no dog in this fight, flew from Virginia and went only one direction, east, and made it back to their point of origin flying easterly only. How could you manage that if the earth was flat. 3) a business partner of mine Colonel David Wilson US Air Force flew jets that had been out of service and serviced lost control of his F-18 and could not get control until his plane was at 58,000 ft. Again, he has no horse in this race, but he saw first hand that the earth was a globe. 4) it seems to me that if the earth were flat one of you fellows could fly over the end and send the rest of us a good picture. It would be easy. 5) ever heard of the USS Blackbird! From 50,000 ft it can tell you the amount of mail in your mailbox. Great plane! It has also taken many pictures of the earth which show a “globe” earth.
I actually have an open mind on issues that don’t effect my salvation, like gravity and flat earth, but I also have common sense and the ability to observe. Even though I recognize your attempts to show a flat earth all of the above issues would need be satisfied in order for me to study further. Then we could explore mathematics, the alleged massive deceit of NASA the viewable satellites in space at low altitudes etc etc. I am genuinely looking forward to your responses. Any ad hominem remarks will be ignored and ultimately simply lead me to move on once again. Thanks
