  • When I visited Yellowstone National Park in the 1960's I searched for
Geyser activity and there were a very few found.
According to the home videos, there is now geyser activity all over the Park.
This is not  warning that there is a coming eruption. However, the
videos are entertaining for those that have never visited the park.
It has only been about 330,000 years since the last eruption and
may not happen in our life times.
The future is always full of surprises, and events beyond our control
    happens.

I visited Yellowstone in 1969 and recall a lot of activity, although not as much as in this video.  My Dad and I saw a "rare" eruption of the Steamboat Geyser!  It was spectacular!  If I recall, it is the the tallest active geyser in the world.  I believe the Giantess also erupted.  I don't remember the surface of The Inkpot actually roiling.  It was perfectly flat and looked more like "ink." The mud boils more rigorously.  What about Little Whirlagig Geyser?  I remember that one erupting, sending what appeared to be small golf balls of water high into the air ahead of the main flume.  Unless its just the video, it is noisier than I remember.  It would be interesting to compare the sulfur odor.  As a child, it was overwhelming.  I toughed it out, but my little sister pinched her nose the entire time.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Here are some photos from about 1965 when I visited Yellowstone
    National Park.
Sorry, I forgot that there was some active geysers.

I have heard from a good scientific source that to avoid a coming
eruption of the Yellowstone is the Yellowstone Lake and river
needs to be drained.  Once the water reached the molten lava
inside the caldera will cause the explosion.

What makes anyone so sure it was 330,000 years ago?  Were there any witnesses?

How do they arrive at such numbers of years?

    Have you ever studied geology?

Are you aware that they claim that FOSSILS in the rocks are used to date the rocks?  IOW without fossils found in their proximity, there is no way to assign age to inert minerals.

That is the opinions of the scientists whom study the earth strata.
The only thing for certain that sometime in the way distant past
Yellowstone has erupted. It is an active volcano and will erupt sometime
    in the future.
The earth takes it time. Everything is in control of God. However, it
is the most interesting place to visit in the world.
