They dont want to hear the truth if it is critical of a priest or bishop or.. GOD FORBID! the pope!!!!!!
Well, if we are to non-critically follow some person in power even when he is clearly in the wrong.. What kind of christianity is that? It does not fit my definition, that's 4 sure. It just shows that you really do not believe what you c laim to believe .. If you can't face questions and doubts whether from within or from without.. sorry, but that makes you kinda clueless (among other things)

What I have noticed over the many years of speaking to Catholics about the circuŠ¼stances, at first they are all ears, but then they realize by accepting the truth, they will have to change their lifestyle and then they reject it.

Well that's because any criticism of our beloved hippie pope would be unkind because the Catholic faith is 100% ass kissing and 0% truth. Or at least thats what ive been told

Blessed Jacinta Marto of Fatima was ahead of her time.
Whenever she heard someone saying something derogatory or critical of a priest she would hide and cry, and if someone asked her why, she explained that we should never speak ill of a priest of God, but rather we should pray for him.
She spent the rest of her short life performing HEROIC SACRIFICES for the Holy Father, without ever mentioning his name, and it is believed that for her the Pope is the Pope and it matters not which Pope, for she sacrificed and did heroic penance for the Holy Father, regardless of his particular name, especially when he would have the most problems or suffering. She had nothing but compassion for the Holy Father.
We can hardly help but wonder what she would have to say to us today.
But we shouldn't have to wonder, because her words are timeless.

When Our Lord hung on the Cross, He knew that in our time we would have wayward clerics and even popes who stray from the narrow path. But Our Lord did not complain, and He offered His last drops of blood for their salvation.
True saints imitate Our Lord.

Most folks (Novus Ordos) don't go to church to hear anything negative. Mess is like a pep rally for the week to come - a big hug and hand shake. They don't want to hear negative Nellies.
On the other hand, traditional parishes tend to focus on the crisis in the church a little too much.

Probably a similar concept. Novus Ordo is easy. Few truths...little study...can still watch TV and work for an immoral company...etc.
Real truth hurts. People do not want to hurt.

Absolutely 1000% correct. Yet...it's also a trick of the devil to get these people to think that their lifestyle is going to be "radically different". The temptation is that they can't "have fun" and love God at the same time. How short-sighted. We all face this temptation in our teenage years when we can't "go along" with the crowd, but at some point (if we grow up) we realize that doing what everyone else does doesn't matter.
One can easily "have fun" and serve God (this is what God wants, for us to be happy NOW and for eternity). One cannot "serve mammon" (i.e. human respect) and serve God. The biggest obstacle for adults to save their souls in our modern world is human respect. The fear of "being different" is so great. And it's such an adolescent fear...

I was banned from the forum Suscipe Domine because a moderator had released a movie of his wedding ceremony, and when I saw the dress I said that it was the garment of a whore, not of a Christian woman. Almost half of her back was uncovered and she wore high heels.
I prefer not to think about the price they paid to have this highly professionnal movie recorded, while millions of people have no roof.
Nobody supported me, those sinners approved her immodest and obscene garment.
My own mother is barely Catholic (more like a modernist) but she was not dressed like that when she got married.

I saw the thread on SD. Yes, I thought the dress was immodest also. You were one of my favorite posters on SD so I am sad to see you go. I do not post there myself but I lurk and read some of the threads.

When we consider how much we suffer from those who say they are Catholic priests and reject the Church's teachings, it is difficult to imagine how much more she would suffer.

true. St Paul said we have to undergo many hardships in order 2 enter Heaven. That is b/c we are such fallen creatures. Our ways are so far from God's, and we dont even realize it

i think she did penance for a pope or priest that was nothing like the pope we have now. Anyone who does not call Francis out on his deceptions and errors is, to me, as good as a liar
