    • What are your favorite kinds of canned fish? I have been eating different kinds of canned fish, most commonly sardines, and I like eating them. What are your favorite kinds? So far my favorite kind is Nuri sardines in tomato sauce (from Portugal where the dogma of the faith will always be preserved). What do you like? I would like to try something new. Something to think about, canned fish, which is yummy, rather than how we are all about to be rounded up and thrown in camps.

    1) VITA brand pickled herring in sour cream with onion.
    2) White albacore tuna in water.
    3) Sardines in tomato sauce.
    4) Sardines in water.
    5) Smoked herring snacks.
    6) Cannd jack mackerel.

    :facepalm:  Yuck!
    Canned salmon.  I hate those bones in it.
    Anchovies. I don’t like the little bristly hairs.

    • Seraphina reconsider please.  The bones in salmon are full of natural calcium.  They are very soft, just mash them with a fork.  They make great salmon patties, 1 drained can (bones mashed skin removed), 8 rolled soda biscuits, 1 egg.  mix well, form into 4 patties and fry.  Serve with a cream sauce.  YUM

    If starving!  I love fresh salmon, dried salmon, smoked salmon, lox with onions and cream cheese on a bagel, just not canned salmon.  Your recipe sounds great with broiled salmon.

    • I love the bones in tinned salmon. I pick them out and chew them.   Cannot get enough. 

    I like tinned salmon caviar from Kamchatka.  That is delicious. 

    Sardines in oil mashed up with Tomato puree and spread on buttered toast. 

    King Crab from Kamchatka when I can find a tin of it.  Comes wrapped in a paper skin inside the tin full of brine, so it does not react with the metal.

    • Not exactly fish, but clams.  I like to make clam chowder.  And I've always wanted to try canning turtle.  We eat it in the summer and it tastes like chicken.  No, it REALLY does...or maybe I should say chicken tastes like turtle ?

    • Aside from salmon and tuna, I don't do canned fish.

    Fried salmon patties are delicious, but they STINK while you're cooking them, and they stink up the kitchen.  I call them "Chitlins of the Sea".  I like mine with mustard.  I have to be able to open the windows and air out the kitchen with a box fan.

    Tuna, I will eat either in salad (no mayonnaise... can't do mayonnaise... it grosses me out... has to be sour cream), or right out of the can.
