Do not go with the OEM cartridges. Get it with this hose and adapter: https://www.trinitysupply.com/CO2-Hose-adapter-For-soda-machine-p/498.htm 
You simply get a CO2 tank that is food-grade and hook it up to the back of the Drinkmate. That link has a video too on how to set it up.
