  • Phil 3:17 Be ye followers of me, brethren, and observe them who walk so as you have our model. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping), that they are enemies of the cross of Christ; 19 Whose end is destruction; whose God is their belly; and whose glory is in their shame; who mind earthly things. 20 But our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ

    Haydock Commentaries:

Ver.17. Be followers of me, always in distrust of your own merits, and always eager to advance in perfection, as I am. It is a happy thing when a pastor can thus in all sincerity and simplicity address his flock. --- He exhorts them to follow him in what he had taught them, and in the model of a good life, which he had set before them. He repeats to them, with tears, what he had formerly told them, that many walk and conduct themselves as enemies to the cross of Christ, to Christ crucified, by abandoning themselves to the pleasures of a sensual life, who glory in things they ought to be ashamed of. He hints at the disciples of Simon Magus, or of the Jєωιѕн doctors. (Witham)

  • I knew a lady once who dreamt that Christ fell off the cross.  As He tried to climb back on people grabbed Him and prevented Him from doing so.

Wow!  Trinity, that was a starteling dream!  What do you think it means?

The dethroning of Christ by the satanist forces?

Protestants and luke warm Catholics who reject the cross or complain about the crosses they receive?

Intended for the person  dreaming the dream?

All of the above........and maybe more?

  • Rampant rejection of the cross.  I think this lady fretted about that and it came out in her dreams.  We have NO appreciation of suffering.

  • The Bible says dreams are not supposed to be taken seriously.
I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • But experience tells us that the cross is very unpopular.  That is why euthanasia is gaining ground.

  • From the Baltimore Catechism No. 3:

    Quote
1155. What are dreams and why is it forbidden to believe in them?

Answer. Dreams are the thoughts we have in sleep, when our will is unable to guide them. It is forbidden to believe in them, because they are often ridiculous, unreasonable, or wicked, and are not governed by either reason or faith.[/size]

  • You guys are silly.  This thread is not about dreams.  It's about hedonism.  I only said that because to my mind this lady was so upset about the rejection of the cross it came out in her dreams.
