SWAT Team Raids WRONG House, Nearly Kills Dad, Injures 6yo Boy With Flash Grenade

Chattanooga, TN – Young children were traumatized and injured by flash-bang grenades, an innocent father was terrorized and arrested by police, and their home was damaged, after a SWAT team carried out an early morning no-knock raid on the wrong house.
The ordeal began at 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday when the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with federal agents to conduct a raid on a house where they claimed a suspect in a murder case was staying. However, they actually terrorized an innocent family in a careless raid that should never have happened.
Spencer Renck shared the story in a Facebook status, noting that he had just gotten out of bed and was preparing to get ready for work when he heard loud noises and immediately thought his home was being burglarized.
I heard loud banging noises upstairs so I grab my gun and try to run upstairs to protect my family from whatever was happening. I thought someone had broken in,” Renck said. “But no it was the Bradley County and Hamilton County SWAT team RAIDING my house.”
The homeowner said the officers launched flash-bang grenades throughout his house, including into a bedroom where his 6-year-old son was sleeping. He said the grenade “blinded and deafened” his son, who was one of four young children in the home with Renck and his wife.
“I had my gun drawn and they opened [the] basement door with several SWAT team members pointing their MP5’s and AR’s at me so first thing I think is to run so I don’t get shot since I’m holding a gun,” Renck said. “They flash-banged me downstairs then threw me to the ground and proceeded to hold me down with someone’s foot and aggressively cuff me and I told them I had a gun in my pocket loaded and he rolled me over and yanked it out and said ‘Of course you do because you are wanted for murder’ then I proceeded to tell them they got the wrong person and they kept telling me to ‘shut  up.’
After officers violently arrested Renck, they finally took the time to check his ID and realized that he was not the murder suspect they were looking for, and they were in the wrong home. According to a reportfrom NewsChannel 9, Johnson City Police admitted in a press release that the search warrant was for 4030 Lynncrest Drive. The Renck family lives next door at 4040 Lynncrest Drive.
Renck said that even when the officers realized he was innocent and they were at the wrong house, they just rushed to the house next door to find the suspect they were actually targeting. When asked for a statement on the botched raid, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office ignored the egregious actions of its officers and focused on the fact that they eventually arrested Monte Lamar Brewer Jr, a suspect in the 2017 murder of a pregnant woman.
“Earlier this morning, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office assisted a federal agency with executing a federal search warrant which led to the arrest of a male who was wanted for murder in Washington County, Tennessee,” spokesman James Bradford said in a statement.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has announced that it is launching an investigation into the SWAT Team’s abhorrent actions, and the Drug Enforcement Agency released a statement responding to the botched raid:
Quote
“On May 22, 2018, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Louisville Division Office and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office served a federal search warrant at an address associated with an individual wanted for murder, who was also a target in an ongoing heroin investigation. This operation was part of a larger ongoing investigation. Unfortunately, this search warrant was initially served on the wrong residence. DEA leadership immediately responded to the scene and met with the family. Fortunately, there were no injuries and DEA will continue to work with the family to ensure their wellbeing. Situations such as these are tragic and DEA takes them very seriously. We intend to look into this matter further and take steps to ensure situations such as this never occur again.”
Unfortunately, the trend of SWAT teams terrorizing innocent families and damaging property in early morning no-knock raids that are carried out at the wrong addresses is not uncommon. In December 2017, a SWAT team in Chicago raided the wrong house and were reprimanded by the homeowner who demanded an apology, while recording the incident on Facebook Live.
“Next thing you know, when I’m looking there’s guns in my face. Just guns drawn out, ‘Get outta here, who’s in here with you?’ Just a bunch of questions,” Homeowner Shanae Cross said, describing the scene when SWAT team members first broke into her house. “I’m like, ‘What the hell is you doing in my house? Who are you, why are you in my house?‘ Then I realize when I see the vests and all, this is the police.”

Officers began to arrest Cross’s 17-year-old brother, and she said she immediately demanded to see a search warrant for the residence where the officers were initiating the “no-knock” raid. When an officer told her the street address was “8203,” she informed them that they were at the wrong house.
“I’m like ‘This is 8209, you king idiot. You’re in the wrong house!’”
Spencer Renck and his family are now left to live with the trauma from the horrific raid, all because police failed to confirm the correct address on the search warrant. In addition to rushing to the hospital for a check-up for his young son, who was impacted by the flash-bang grenade that detonated in his room, Renck wrote on Facebook that his house was left damaged from the raid.
“They destroyed my door, door frame, carpet on my stairs blew my ceiling out and burned my living room floor and hallway,” Renck said. “All because someone got the wrong house. I am okay and could have easily been killed just thankful to be alive and my family okay. I still don’t understand how you get the wrong house.

You may not know that many Police Chiefs and Sheriffs are now trained in Israel and practice on the Palestinians.
This is a fact that you can learn from the independent media and suppressed in the mainstream media.

Will the police reimburse the family for the medical expenses and the damage done to their home?

In this case the SWAT TEAM went to the wrong address.   No-Knock raids are justified when it comes to Felony
    arrests and warrants.
Most our present day Police Officers are veterans of the Gulf Wars and the occupations of Afghanistan and
Iraq. These are the tactics they are taught.
Many American Police Chiefs and Sheriffs are trained by the IDF in Israel and practice their tactics on the
    Palestinians.
Just because it is never mentioned in the mainstream media does not mean it is happening.  There is plenty
of docuмentation in the independent media.

I have yet to hear that anyone has been reimburse because of these mistaken raids caused by a wrong address.
They are seen as collateral damage.
This is the price we pay for a Liberal society that is using terror to enforce their ideology.

I would think a lawsuit would be possible, since the address error occurred because of an internal violation of search protocols.

What methods did SWAT use to cross-check their address?

If protocols were violated or no protocols were in place, you have the basis for a court case.

Would this be considered personal injury?

  • The toddler disfigured in a botched Habersham County SWAT raid will get more a national profile Thursday while his family awaits the outcome of a federal investigation on whether any officers will be indicted, a lawyer for the family said.

Bounkham Phonesavanh, affectionately known as “Baby Boo Boo,” and his parents are to appear on the syndicated TV show “The Doctors,” Thursday (10 a.m. WSB-TV) and the family plans to keep telling its story in hope of receiving some measure of justice, attorney Mawuli Mel Davis told The Atlanta Journal Constitution Wednesday.

“They wanted a second opinion on whether Boo Boo will have mental difficulties from the trauma,” Davis said. “That is one benefit of appearing on the show.”

“We also think ‘The Doctors” doing this show is another example of people realizing what a tragedy this family is going through and that they should be supported.”
The family hopes the federal government, which is still investigating the raid, will bring indictments against some of the officers involved, Davis said. A Habersham County grand jury declined to indict any of the officers for what Davis called criminal negligence in the raid and potential perjury involving the search warrant despite criticizing the police actions.
“The family is just trying to remain optimistic that somebody will be held criminally liable for what happened,” he said. “We think the no-knock search warrant that was obtained was based on some false information. We’ve taken a position that is reckless conduct and that is a charge. The grand jurors chose not to follow the law and their oath.”
In May, the then 19-month-old Boo Boo’s face was disfigured and he spent weeks in a medically induced coma in Grady Memorial Hospital after a SWAT team’s flash grenade exploded near his face. The grenade landed in his crib when officers tossed it the house during the surprise raid.
The blast caused brain trauma, disconnected his nose, caused third-degree burns and other injuries — both physical and possibly psychological, Davis said. The family got second opinions from other doctors besides a neurosurgeon, he said
“He had his nipple blown off so he doesn’t have a left nipple and then there is the facial scarring,” Davis said.“He has had one plastic surgery already and they’ve been told he will continue to have to have them as his face develops. Every couple of years there is going to have to be some sort of surgery.”
In a promotional clip for the show, the family tells the cast, which includes plastic surgeon Andrew Ordon and pediatrician Jim Sears, about the trauma they experienced from the raid and the extreme financial difficulties the family it now faces

“We are in over a million dollars, not just in debt, but in collections,” Boo Boo’s mother, Alecia Phonesavanh, tells the show’s cast.
The early morning raid sparked outrage at the use of no-knock search warrant for an alleged methamphetamine dealer who the warrant said was armed and dangerous and lived at the Cordelia house residence. The raid produced no dealer, no drugs, no weapons and no drug-related cash.
Authorities arrested the alleged dealer, Wanis Thonetheva, a relative who lived elsewhere, without incident later. At the time Thonetheva was out of jail on a $15,000 bond on an unrelated-drug arrest.
Sheriff Joey Terrell has expressed great sympathy for the family for what he called a tragic accident but has admitted no wrongdoing in the raid on the part of his deputies. In August, the Habersham County Commission announced that it wouldn’t reimburse the family for its medical expenses with the following statement from its attorney:
The question before the board was whether it is legally permitted to pay these expenses. After consideration of this question following advice of counsel, the board of commissioners has concluded that it would be in violation of the law for it to do so.”

  • This means that none of us are safe. Any family in the USA could be misidentified and falsely attacked by SWAT teams. And if a false attack causes us to lose a child or causes our house to burn to the ground, we will not get any reimbursement for medical costs or the replacement of the home. This is an act of war.

As we say in Los Angeles, "What do you do when the gang wears blue?"

Whenever I have witnessed police officers at an accident scene, they are protective, and their help is much appreciated, but during criminal investigations, these same police officers can turn into brute animals due to their past military training.

I have known people who were recently in  the military, and some of them told me that they have experienced missing time when they disappeared for several hours or even several days. MK-ultra program? Afterwards, they were discharged due to mental instability and had difficulties finding jobs. Please do not let your sons and daughters serve in the U.S. military. It could cause them to lose their faith, their sanity, and their lives.

The last time we had a police emergency, we called We Tip, not 911. The matter was resolved very quickly.
