  • Haha, very interesting! No, I don't believe in Bigfoot, though I used to be on the fence when I was younger. The idea has fascinated me for most of my life, though. But no, I don't believe it's possible for such an animal to exist out in the forests of the Pacific Northwest without someone running over one, or finding a body, or somehow having solid proof for it. People have flown airplanes over great swathes of those mountains at night with infrared goggles that would identify any medium-sized or larger animal in the woods, and I have never seen any evidence they ever saw a Bigfoot.

Moreover, stories about man-shaped apes are told all over the world, from the sasquatch of the Himalayas to the Yowie of Australia, and none of those places have ever produced any physical evidence of such a thing. I believe it is just something inherent in human nature to think about and tell stories about humanoid apes roaming the woods -- some creature that is basically human but still an animal. There must be something about the idea that fascinates us. That is why the legend continues to be told.

It was only in the 1960s when some enterprising American named Roger Patterson used modern (for the time) technology to actually forge "proof" for such a creature's existence, when he filmed the famous Patterson-Gimli film, and my avatar is a still frame from that video.
